Paintings in Progress - happy holidays

Parthenocissus quinquifolia - watercolor 8"x10"

This plant in its fall foliage looks a little like a poinsettia, but it is actually in the grape family and is called woodbine, Virginia creeper, and five-leafed ivy.  I think it might make a nice greeting card.

Paintings in Progress - sophie the cat

In 2009, I started a series of oil paintings, telling myself that I would try to do at least one a year.  So far I have finished five, and this painting of Kittery and the Model A is the third in the series.

Since I had skipped a couple years, I thought I would work on another one through this winter and document the various stages in the process.

It is looking better but it still has a long way to go...
