Pages from my Sketchbook - March

Playing with old fashioned dip pens and various inks this month.
I've tried India ink, iron gall ink, walnut ink and sumi ink, and I have learned that the type of paper is just as important as the type of ink.  Here are a few of my favorite doodles and one of my test pages.
(practicing my cursive writing too by copying poems)

Pages from my Sketchbook - February

This was an exercise we did with periwinkles.
We had to see how many different ways we could draw them.
They're all so unique!

Pages from my Sketchbook - January

1-10-18 Winter Friends
It's more tricky to find things to draw in the winter, especially when it's snowy and below zero.
Fortunately our house is full of ladybugs, so there is no shortage of drawing subjects.  Here are a couple of my very patient models.

1-17-18  Usually I try to draw only from life, but in this case my Grandmother send me some photos from her trip to Monet's Garden at Giverny.  On a snowy day like today, I couldn't resist painting this scene and imagining I was there.
